Colemans Powersport Open House 4/2009

CJ and I drove out to Colemans Powersports to hang out at their bike event. They had a DJ on hand, free food, bikini bike wash and bikini contests (no, we did not attend that).

The Maiden Voyage

After a five year hiatus from motorcycle ownership, I finally got back into the game. Five weeks ago I purchased a new to me 2005 BMW 1200RT. A bike that I had to have after I test rode it in June 2008. Special thanks to Jesse and Theresa who stored my bike for five weeks. Friday I took a flight to Chicago and rode back today. 759 miles in 12 hours 40 minutes.

Jesse a.k.a. JP has five bikes (Honda Gold wing, Honda ST1300, BMW K1200S, BMW 1200GS, Yamaha ?)

My motorcycle traveling companion Ambee (specially made by my daughter)

Saturday morning, the bikes getting ready to roll

I had lunch at the roadside cafe' left over Famous Daves Barbecue wings and Gatorade. I know, I look terrible. I couldn't sleep the night before. Too excited.

One of five quick stops. Three times for gas, two times to eat. Met a couple here from Connecticut whose daughter goes to William & Mary. I think they were a little out of the way.

My GPS fizzed out in Ohio and my Ipod went dead twice. Yeah, I was singing to myself. Overall the trip was good. The RT performed flawlessly. The RT puts out zero heat. After 12hours on the road, I placed my hand on the cylinder heads and they were warm. Now I'm not stupid enough to touch the exhaust. Five - O was out in full force except Maryland and VA
